June 6, 2006, 6-6-06 — not to worry. Sadly, the evil in the world is here every day. It does not wait for the sixth day of the sixth month of the 2006th year. It seems almost quaint to watch spooky movies about possessed offspring, when it is so clear that evil is always among us.

On this day, there is news from Canada that investigators believe 17 terrorists plotted to blow up the Parliament building in Ottawa and that one planned to behead the prime minister, Stephen Harper. On this day, a woman is accused of stealing a newborn baby after convincing the child's mother that she was a nurse. And on this day, a slain college co-ed's family hopes that police will find the person who strangled her with her bikini top.

It is this passage from Revelation that started the whole "666" heebie-jeebies:

"This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six." — Revelation 13:18

Father Jonathan Morris reminds us that it is not "a date" that we need to worry about, but "the beast" that is and can be man or woman that is here with us.

One man this brings to mind, began to be defeated on this day. Indeed, that may be the most significant reason to recognize the sixth of June, as Rich reminds us:

Martha,
Anyone who cares at all about 666 or 06/06/06 is an idiot, ignore them. There are only two significant items so far today and they are the elections in the eight states and the bigger of the two being the anniversary of D-Day! Your show and all the FOX News shows today should spend a lot of time remembering D-Day and those, living and dead, who participated in it.
Rich

Thanks, Rich. And to end on these lighter notes:

E-mail No. 2:

Martha,
To my wife and I, 6-6-06 stands for our hard earned 20th wedding anniversary. We will celebrate it with dark chocolate Klondike ice cream bars and sparkling red grape juice.
Gerald K. Green,
AR

Congratulations to Gerald and his wife.

E-mail No. 3:

I think today isn't a day to worry about. I've been watching many channels on TV all day that show different signs about how a part of the devil will rise today, and I'm not afraid. I'm a strong Christian and if the devil may come then God will come. When God comes it will be a day of celebration for me. By the way, it's my birthday today, and all my friends and family tell me I'm the devil's child. I just smile and give them a weird look and hope they get freaked out. My name is Faye and I just turned 15 today.
Faye Razon

Good for you, Faye and happy birthday!

See you tomorrow on TV,
Martha
