A man was killed and his body was stuffed into an open septic tank at his mobile home after he refused to let two teenagers use his car, authorities said.

Hunter Everette, 17, of Denham Springs, and a 16-year-old juvenile, whose name was not released because of his age were booked Wednesday with first-degree murder and armed robbery, West Feliciana Parish Sheriff J. Austin Daniel said.

Michael Gore, 55, of St. Francisville apparently was shot with a .22-calbier rifle, then beaten with the butt of the weapon until the stock separated from the rest of weapon, Daniel said.

Gore was able to call the sheriff's office for help before he was killed, the sheriff said.

Daniel said the 16-year-old, who lived next to Gore, told investigators that $350 was taken from the victim. Gore's car was recovered in Livingston Parish, the sheriff said.
