Public Schools Racially Divided By Law
The NAACP sued Nebraska's governor and a state committee over a new law that divides Omaha Public Schools into three racially identifiable districts. The law, passed by the Legislature at the end of its recent session, splits the Omaha district starting in 2008 into three districts: one mostly black, one largely Hispanic and one predominantly white.

Bush: I Would Like To Close Guantanamo
President Bush says he would like to close the detention center in Guantanamo in Cuba, but is waiting for a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on whether inmates can face military tribunals. "Obviously, the Guantanamo issue is a sensitive issue for people," Bush told ARD German television. "I very much would like to end Guantanamo; I very much would like to get people to a court.
