Lise Van Susteren, a psychiatrist and sister of FOX News' Greta Van Susteren, withdrew from her Senate race Friday, saying she could not raise enough money for a statewide race.
Lise Van Susteren had announced her candidacy in September. At least five others are seeking the party's nomination in September to replace their retiring fellow Democrat, Sen. Paul Sarbanes.
In a letter, Van Susteren told supporters that her campaign had raised a half-million dollars but needed more.
"The reality is, there were resources we were going to need to get our message out in a very short period of time that it was clear we weren't going to be able to have," said Van Susteren spokesman Ron Eckstein.
Van Susteren declined to endorse another Democrats in the race.
