I really want to send my condolences to the family of little Jamie Bolin.
A monster is accused of taking her life and planning to eat her remains. That may be the most disgusting act I've ever heard in my life. It's downright vile!
I work in a newsroom with hardened producers and, when the facts of the case were revealed, you could see how everyone was affected. People turned ashen. It's just so hard to believe.
Do I think that Kevin Underwood — the monster that is charged with killing Jamie, raping her corpse, attempting to behead her and then intending to eat her — deserves the death penalty? You better believe I do.
You know that his defense will be insanity and, judging from his actions, he probably is insane. But, according to all reports, this was a premeditated act — a sick and perverse one at that.
I'd love to be the prosecutor on this case so that I can see justice doled out. This man is vile. If guilty, he'll join the ranks of Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy and the other animals that have walked the Earth without regard for human life.
My prayers are with Jamie's family. I hope they find some comfort in faith and with the knowledge that every single American shares their grief and anger.
Rest assured, we will continue to track this case.
If you have children, after you log off the computer, go hug and kiss them and remember how precious life is and how one evil person can take it all away.
Jamie's murder is a reminder to us to always be on guard. Know your neighbors, watch your children and take everyday as a blessing.
That's the way I see it. Let me know what you think. Drop me an e-mail at: email@example.com.
I'll see you on the line up this weekend and again on my blog next week.
