Ford Motor Co. (F) is recalling 134,365 Escape and Mercury Mariner sports utility vehicles to adjust the padding on the driver's side to prevent injuries during a collision, according to U.S. safety regulators.

The vehicles affected by the recall are from the 2005 model year, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on its Web site on Thursday.

No injuries or accidents were connected to the recall, Ford spokeswoman Kristen Kinley said.

Ford is also in the process of recalling over 19,000 Mustang Cobras because the accelerator pedal can stick on the floor carpeting in the car.
