This is a partial transcript of "The Big Story With John Gibson," April 7, 2006, that has been edited for clarity.

JOHN GIBSON, HOST: Maybe he's better than he once was. Country superstar Toby Keith is ready to rock the charts with a new CD. He's kicking off a big summer tour, he's nominated for three 2006 Country Music Television awards and right now he is hanging out at his own restaurant called I Love This Bar and Grill. It is at Harrah's Hotel in Las Vegas, where he joins us live.

Welcome, Toby. Thanks for coming on.

TOBY KEITH, COUNTRY SINGER: Good to be here.

GIBSON: So the new CD is called "White Trash With Money."

KEITH: Yes, yes, yes.

GIBSON: Can you explain that, please?

KEITH: Well, it would take too long. But have you ever made a trailer payment?

GIBSON: No, but I get the picture.

KEITH: All right. All right, well, somebody said that to my daughter one time on the upper west side of the town I live in and my wife freaked out about it and got all mad. And I said, you know what? I'm going to show you how to turn this into gold, baby. I wear it like a badge of honor.

GIBSON: All right, well, who is white trash with money?

KEITH: It's just a — it's a whole, you know, it's just a whole spirit, man. You just be proud of what you are and don't get so uptight about everything, you know what I mean?

GIBSON: I do know what you mean. I think I see the people — your fans out where I live in Texas. Do you think you're singing to, you're producing songs for a certain group of people in this country?

KEITH: No. I just kind of do what I do and then, you know, what I end up with as my audience is what I have to deal with. So it's just being proud of what you are and have fun with it at the same time. Don't take it too serious.

GIBSON: Are you a Nashville guy?

KEITH: No, I live in Oklahoma.

GIBSON: All right. Well, you've got a big tour this summer. And, Toby Keith, good luck with it. I hope it's a big giant hit. "White Trash With Money" is the new CD. Good luck with it.

KEITH: April 11, Tuesday, it's in the stores.

GIBSON: All right, thanks a lot, Toby Keith.

KEITH: See you, buddy.
