Out-of-the-ordinary news from the folks at "Studio B"...
'Dead' Man
Usually, walking, talking and breathing are pretty good signs that someone is alive. But that wasn't enough for one guy in Cleveland.
He says last November he couldn't get his insurance company to pay his hospital bills because the government said he died two months prior. He went to the Social Security office, even had to make a few phone calls before they finally took his word for it.
Now he just has to deliver the big news to his wife because she just got a letter saying she's eligible for widow's benefits.
Cavemen Dig Blondes
Researchers say they've figured out why there are so many platinum beauties in northern and eastern Europe. The short answer: Cavemen dig blondes.
According to a new study in a British science journal, the male-to-female ratio was heavily in favor of the guys about 10,000 years ago. So they had their pick of any woman they wanted — didn't even need a club.
The study's author says blond hair and blue eyes are actually genetic mutations that were meant to draw attention to them, and cavemen simply could not resist.
Curious Cat
A woman from Illinois was worried sick when her cat, Mr. Biggles, didn't come home. She looked everywhere, in every direction — except for up.
You see, Mr. Biggles decided to go for a climb and ended up on top of a utility pole. He liked his perch so much that he didn't come down for days. The power company had to finally come get him.
Mr. Biggles is back home, but who knows what hi-jinks he will have in store for us next time.
One More Time
If you have a TiVo, the company says it knows everything you watch and re-watch. For the Olympics, TiVo says it found out which moments people decided to take another look at.
The number one replay: Canadian skater Marie-France Dubreuil taking a big spill on the ice. The fall took her and her partner out of the competition.
But people aren't all bad. The number two replay was American skater Sasha Cohen's winning performance in the short program.
