Julia Roberts' "Mona Lisa Smile" and Tom Cruise's "Top Gun" grin are the envy of most American adults, according to a recent survey of dentists.

But kids want the look of SpongeBob Square-pants -- who only has two visible teeth -- or, gasp, King Kong!

Other actors in the running for most popular smile are Halle Berry, Brad Pitt and Farrah Fawcett, according to the survey, which polled 400 dentists out of the 30,000 attending an annual conference in Chicago.

With that many dentists in one place, the gums were flapping, and the mouth doctors talked about various other aspects of the practice.

Many dentists said the conventional toothbrush may be going the way of the dinosaur, with only 30 percent still using the manual tooth cleaner, down from 60 percent in 2004.

And, if you didn't already know, raspberry is the wave of the future.

More than 30 percent of the dentists surveyed predicted that to be the "next big flavor" in toothpaste. Other contenders include green tea, chocolate, ginger, espresso, honey and champagne.

Mint is so last century.
