Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday accused Republicans of "playing the fear card" of terrorism to win elections and said Democrats cannot keep quiet if they want to win in November.
The New York Democrat, facing re-election this year and considered a potential White House candidate in 2008, said Republicans won the past two elections on the issue of national security and "they're doing it to us again." Read more.

"If Mrs. Clinton says it, it must be true, right? She's so cute when she's ANGRY!" — Bill (Texarkana, TX)
"The 'Fear Card?' Is that like saying that Republicans want to starve children by changing school lunch programs? Or is it closer to when Republicans want to change Social Security and deprive the elderly of their homes? Or is that when Republicans visit their plantations...No, no that's the 'Race Card.’ I just can't seem to keep all those cards straight." — Robert
"I hope the Republicans will continue to watch over America. I cringe when I think the Democrats may win the White House." — Marty
"No! The republicans are not playing the fear card. They are playing the protect-our-country card, while Clinton and the democrats are playing go fish. Someone should reminder Ms. Clinton that fighting terrorism is not a game. If Bill Clinton would have spent more time fighting terrorism (after their first attach on the twin towers), and less time playing with interns the twins towers would still be standings. I sincerely believe this." — Bert (Cullman, AL)
"Rubbish! This country HAS to fear what the terrorists propose to do to us. It has to fear enough to remove complacency and to recognize that some small freedoms must be exchanged to make secure most others we have. Mrs. Clinton is not serving her country, and perhaps her party, well by making such frantic statements." — Jim
"Is the GOP playing the fear card after 9/11? I THINK NOT! Are the democrats playing the head-in-the-sand card? I THINK SO! The Democrats think the greatest threat to America is currently in the White House. Democrats, for the most part, do not have the brains to realize we are in a struggle for western civilization, and that we need to be every bit as ruthless as our enemies! Democrats are naïve fools at the least or traitors at the worse." — Jack (Vero Beach, FL)
"Unfortunately for the Democrats the Republicans tell it like it is and do not live in some fantasy world." — Ed
"This is a woman who is always angry at something, usually it's something she's accusing the Republicans of doing wrong." — Rosemarie (Morristown, NJ)
"Usama Bin Laden played the fear card, not the GOP. The GOP elephants just remember better than the Democrat donkeys do. What we need to fear are cunning and deceitful politicians who will do or say anything to get elected then wag our country around to appease other loudmouthed Dems and cowardly countries like France. America needs another courageous president committed to doing the right thing who recognizes the danger we face and will keep the terrorists in their holes in Afghanistan and Iraq waiting for a fine, second-to-none American soldier to drop by and hasten their demise." — Jeff (Kalama, WA)
