Lindsay Lohan was being treated at a Miami hospital for an asthma attack, her publicist said.

"She is resting comfortably," spokeswoman Leslie Sloane Zelnick said Tuesday.

The 19-year-old actress-pop star was in Miami to celebrate New Year's Eve. She reportedly was admitted to the hospital Monday night, according to People magazine.

A call to Zelnick by The Associated Press on whether Lohan remained hospitalized wasn't immediately returned Wednesday.

Lohan is set to begin shooting "Chapter 27," a film about John Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman, in two weeks, People reported. Jared Leto will star as Chapman. Lennon was shot dead outside his New York apartment building on Dec. 8, 1980.

Lohan's screen credits include roles in "Herbie: Fully Loaded," "The Parent Trap" and "Mean Girls." She recently released her sophomore album, "A Little More Personal (Raw)."
