A single-engine plane made an emergency landing on Interstate 75 on Monday, state police said.

The pilot managed to merge into traffic in the southbound lanes, and there were no injuries, said Lt. Michael Boyd of the Southgate Fire Department.

The pilot was the only person on board the two-seater, Boyd said.

TV helicopter footage showed the plane upright and blocking two lanes of traffic, but vehicles were still able to drive by the landing site as rush hour got under way.
