Vice President Dick Cheney's chief aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby (search) is indicted by a grand jury in relation to the CIA leak investigation. Libby is charged with five counts including obstruction of justice, making false statements to mislead a grand jury and perjury. Almost immediately after the indictment was handed down, Libby resigned his White House position.
