One Killed in Virginia School Bus Crash

A car crossed a double yellow line Monday and crashed head-on into a school bus, killing the motorist and injuring 11 other people, police said.

The driver of that vehicle, which burst into flames after the 6:50 a.m. crash, was pronounced dead at the scene, and a critically injured passenger in the car was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital (search), police spokeswoman Rene Ball said.

In addition, nine students and the bus driver were hospital for what Ball described as minor injuries. The bus was carrying high school students.
