Mary-Kate Olsen (search) is leaving college.

The actress, who is in her sophomore year at New York University (search), will take a leave of absence from the school.

"Mary-Kate Olsen has taken a leave of absence from New York University to focus on her increasing responsibilities as co-president of Dualstar Entertainment Group (search) and to pursue personal interests," her publicist, Michael Pagnotta told People magazine Friday.

Mary-Kate's twin sister Ashley, who is the other co-president of Dualstar, will remain at NYU.

Mary-Kate Olsen spent six weeks at a treatment center for an eating disorder last summer, before beginning her freshman year at NYU.

When she and her sister turned 18, they assumed the role of president for Dualstar. Each twin is estimated to be worth more than $150 million.
