Military police have arrested a soldier after he fired five shots into a group of fellow soldiers who were doing physical training. No one was injured in the shooting.

The shooting happened around 7 a.m. CDT Thursday morning near the First and Second Brigade headquarters, with the man being arrested a short time later.

Fort Campbell spokeswoman Cathy Gramling (search) says military police apprehended the soldier and brought him into custody. She says he had a non-military issued handgun.

The soldier's identity has not been disclosed. Charges have not been filed thus far. It is unknown if the soldier belonged to the unit fired upon. Fort Campbell (search) officials declined further comment.
