Lights Fall During New York Fashion Show

A bank of lights fell to the floor during the finale of a fashion show Sunday, injuring a handful of editors who were in the front row. No one appeared to be seriously hurt.

The evening Fashion Week (search) show was held at designer Diane von Furstenberg (search)'s Manhattan studio. A man was taken to the hospital with a head cut, fire department spokesman Sean Johnson said.

None of the models was injured. The show was stopped immediately, and the crowd was told to leave.

Most of the other Fashion Week shows are held in tents at Bryant Park (search), but von Furstenberg shows are traditionally put on elsewhere. Her collection, called La Dolce Diva, featured chiffon wrap dresses and beaded gowns inspired by the Greek seas.

A telephone message left for a von Furstenberg publicist Sunday night was not immediately returned.
