A huge car bomb exploded outside a popular restaurant in Baghdad's upscale Mansour neighborhood Monday night, witnesses said. Hospital officials reported at least one person was killed and 17 were wounded.

A doctor at Yarmouk Hospital (search) said most of the victims were women.

The last major car bombing in the capital was Thursday, when a black BMW exploded as a convoy carrying U.S. security contractors drove past.

That blast, near the heavily fortified Sadir Hotel (search) where the security men lived, sent a huge plume of smoke into the sky in Baghdad's busy Karradah neighborhood, a main shopping and commercial district. Three passers-by were injured.
