Black Box Found in Toronto Plane Crash

Investigators have found the so-called black boxes from an Air France (search) plane that skidded off a rainy runway in Toronto yesterday and burst into flames.

They hope the flight data and voice recorders will provide insight into the cause of the accident.

All 309 passengers and crew survived after being evacuated from the aircraft in less than two minutes. But some suffered injuries.

There was severe weather in Toronto and the airport was under a "red alert" because of the threat of lightning.

An official with the Greater Toronto Airport Authority says there was enough fuel onboard for the plane to fly to an airport where the weather was better. But he says it was the pilot's decision to try to land.
