Lara Flynn Boyle Joining Cast of 'Las Vegas'

Lara Flynn Boyle (search) is joining the cast of "Las Vegas" (search) in the fall, playing the flamboyant new owner of the Montecito Casino.

"Las Vegas" — starting its third season — stars "Godfather" icon James Caan as the head of the casino's surveillance team, and Josh Duhamel as his protégé.

Boyle, the former girlfriend of Jack Nicholson, is best known for her roles as assistant District Attorney Helen Gamble on ABC's "The Practice" and as a flighty teenager on "Twin Peaks."

"She will add even more story potential and star power to what is already a super-charged cast playing against the backdrop of a dynamic city," said Gary Scott Thompson, the creator/executive producer of "Las Vegas."
