Topics and Guests for July 5

Watch "The Big Story" weekdays at 5 p.m. ET

President Bush knows what he wants from the next Supreme Court justice. But could his pick backfire down the road? We'll get insight from Ralph Neas, president of People for the American Way, and C. Boyden Gray, former President George H.W. Bush's White House counsel.

Joseph Edward Duncan III (search), a convicted sex offender accused of kidnapping Shasta and Dylan Groene, is due in court Tuesday, as authorities await lab results for "possible" human remains that might confirm their worst fears that 9-year-old Dylan is dead. The grim news cast a cloud over the joyful reunion of Shasta, 8, and her father over the weekend. So why is a convicted sex offender, who has spent much of his adult life in jail, out on the streets? Dr. Larry Kobilinsky, professor of forensic science at John Jay College, and Rod Wheeler, former D.C. homicide investigator, weigh in.

Then, Beth Holloway Twitty (search), the mother of missing U.S. teen Natalee Holloway, begs authorities not to let Deepak and Satish Kalpoe leave Aruba after they were released as suspects in the probe Monday. So where does the investigation stand now that Joran van der Sloot is the only remaining suspect detained in the disappearance of Natalee? We'll ask Aruban attorney Arlene Ellis-Schipper.

And, according to The New York Times, the Pentagon may be rethinking the way we prepare our troops for war. Under the current system, two major campaigns can be fought at one time. But what if another conflict arises? And what if we need to defend the homeland? Retired U.S. Marines Lt. Col. Bill Cowan, FOX News military analyst, weighs in.

Plus, we're just hours away from finding out the host of the 2012 Summer Games. So does NYC stand a chance against the other four finalists? And, just how political is this competition? We'll get the lowdown from Ellis Henican, Newsday columnist and FOX News political analyst.
