A 2-year-old boy survived a 60-foot fall when an all-terrain vehicle he and his father were riding rolled over a rocky cliff in western Kentucky (search), officials said.

Jacob Ferrell (search) was in serious condition Tuesday at a hospital in Evansville, Ind. Hospital officials said the toddler's injuries were extensive. His father, Tony Ferrell, was pronounced dead at the scene of Sunday's accident.

"With the vehicle going over with them and the terrain, rocks and such down at the bottom, I would say it's pretty much divine intervention — or at least a miracle," said Larry Granstaff, emergency services director for Crittenden County.

Kentucky State Police (search) are trying to piece together details of the accident, including why the four-wheeler rolled backward off the cliff.
