A Texas man has been charged with murder in the case of a missing mother and son. Law enforcement officials in the Lone Star state announced today that the bodies of 34-year-old Lisa Underwood (search), who was seven months pregnant, and her 7-year-old son, Jayden, had been found.
Dallas-area television stations KDFW (the FOX affiliate), KTVT and WFAA earlier reported that police had searched a large pond near Northlake in Denton County, Texas, and had discovered the bodies.
Authorities said Stephen Barbee (search), 37, an ex-boyfriend, was arrested early Tuesday morning in Tyler, 120 miles east of Fort Worth, and his bail was set at $2 million. He was escorted to prison and booked just about the time the reports of the missing bodies surfaced.
The Amber Alert for the missing mother and son was canceled.
