This week, a number of events will be held in honor of President Bush's second inauguration:

Jan. 18

Saluting Those Who Serve, at the MCI Center, 2 to 4 p.m.

Chairman’s Reception, at Mellon Auditorium, 5 to 6 p.m.

America’s Future Rocks Today, at the Armory, 5 to 7 p.m.

Jan. 19

Chairman’s Brunch, at Mellon Auditorium, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

A Celebration of Freedom, at the Ellipse, 4 to 6 p.m.

Candlelight dinners, at Union Station, the Washington Hilton, National Building Museum, 7 to 10 p.m.

Texas State Society's Black Tie and Boots Ball, at Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Jan. 20

St. John’s Church Service, at St. John’s Church, 9 to 10 a.m.

Oath of Office Ceremony, at the U.S. Capitol, Noon

Inaugural parade, along Pennsylvania Avenue, 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Celebratory Balls:

Constitution Ball: at the Washington Hilton, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Freedom Ball: at Union Station, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Independence Ball, Texas Wyoming Ball, Patriot Ball, Stars and Stripes Ball, Liberty Ball, Democracy Ball: at the Convention Center from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Commander-in-Chief Ball, at the National Building Museum, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Jan. 21

National Prayer Service, at the National Cathedral, 10 to 11 a.m.

Other Events

Other Inaugural events will likely include lectures, seminars, public entertainment, a prayer service and a presidential gala on the eve of the Inauguration. Inaugural festivities also include dozens of unofficial receptions and parties throughout Washington, D.C. The President and First Lady only attend the official balls.
