Billy Crystal (search) is bringing his one-man show to bookstores.
"700 Sundays" (search), based on the comedian's hit autobiographical one-man Broadway show about his family history, is scheduled for a November release by Warner Books.
"Billy Crystal has always used his extraordinary talent to connect with ordinary people. In '700 Sundays' he has turned his family into a universal story that resonates with humor, memory and love," Laurence J. Kirshbaum, CEO and Chairman of the Time Warner Book Group, said Tuesday in a statement.
The title "700 Sundays" comes from a calculation by Crystal that father and son spent that many Sundays together before Jack Crystal died. Sunday was the one day of the week the two had to enjoy each other's company since Jack Crystal always held two or three jobs.
"Billy Crystal: 700 Sundays" features vivid portraits of other relatives, including his Uncle Milt, who founded Commodore Records and who, among other things, recorded Billie Holiday singing "Strange Fruit" when other record labels turned down the song about whites lynching a black man in the South.
Tickets are on sale for the show, one of Broadway's hottest tickets, through the end of March.
