BAGHDAD, Iraq – He used to be America's top law enforcement official. Now, he's apparently one of Saddam Hussein's (search) lawyers.
The former Iraqi dictator's chief lawyer says former Attorney General Ramsey Clark (search) has signed on to defend Saddam.
The lawyer says Clark joined the team after Saddam said last week he wanted to pass on his regards to the former attorney general.
The fiercely anti-war Clark has met with Saddam several times over the past 15 years and was considered a friend of Iraq (search) when it was hit by sanctions in 1990 for invading Kuwait.
Clark's New York law office refused comment.
