NEW YORK – The answer: Ratings for "Jeopardy!" (search)
The question: What's fallen over a cliff since since phenom Ken Jennings (search) lost last week?
On Nov. 30, when Jennings' run came to an end after winning 74 consecutive games, "Jeopardy!" averaged a 13 rating in the nation's biggest cities.
Ratings quickly fell to a 9.7 the following day, then to a 9.1 the day after that and to an 8.1 last Friday, according to Nielsen (Fridays are traditionally the show's lowest-rated day).
While the show's ratings remain, on average, above what they were before Ken's remarkable run, the star power he provided the syndicated game show is now obvious.
Jennings won a remarkable $2.5 million during his streak.
