"Before Sunset," "Bridget Jones's Diary" (search) and "Gone With the Wind" are new on DVD in today's Foxlight.

Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy met cute nine years ago and spent the day together in a small film called "Before Sunrise." Now they're bumping into each other again in the widely praised sequel "Before Sunset." (search) Yahoo members give it a "B-plus." Critics averaged an "A-minus." Once again, they have just a day to spend together. And once again, it's all bittersweet with what might have been. Nice to see Delpy working again.

Speaking of sequels, one popular move these days on DVD is to bring out the first version of a film when the sequel is just hitting theaters. So here she is. Renee Zellwegger — the gal readers hated at first but learned to love — is Bridget Jones. Her diary, volume one, has some really great moments and a terrific turn from Zellwegger. Critics and online polls give the film a solid "B-plus."

Finally, yes, you should give a damn. A specially remastered "Gone With the Wind" (search) is here. This is the best thing Vivian Leigh ever made, all after a longer talent search than three seasons of "American Idol." Sure it's almost four hours long, but it has an intermission. People down South like to say they watch the film backwards so the Confederates win.
