China Executes Woman Who Poisoned Ten

A Chinese woman who fatally poisoned ten people at her husband's funeral has reportedly been executed.

The China News Service reports she was executed by gunshot Thursday, one week after the attack. The report quotes police as saying the farmer's widow put rat poison in a funeral lunch due to a grudge with relatives.

Authorities say the dead include the local Communist Party (search) secretary and a child. The funeral attack sickened 23 other guests including a three-year-old boy.

Many in China have died in recent years in attacks using the same brand of rat poison.
