Monday, Oct. 25:

Countdown to the election: Both Bush and Kerry are bringing out their party’s political heavyweights Monday in the final eight days of the campaign.

Will former President Clinton’s first post-op public appearance in Philadelphia give Kerry the edge he needs to win November 2? And Al Gore (search) mobilizes Florida voters still angry from the 2000 recount (search); can Gore shore up the support the Democrat party needs?

Not to be outdone, the Republicans are bringing out their own star, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (search) to campaign with Bush. Will this star power sway voters in the final days of the campaign?

Also coming on Election Day (search) are several closely contested Senate races.  Will the Democratic Party win enough races to take win majority of the Senate? Brit will ask Michael Barone, senior writer for U.S. News & World Report and Fox News contributor to weigh in on the possible changes in the senatorial landscape.

Plus, the latest news out of Iraq: the U.N. nuclear agency has confirmed that tons of conventional explosives are missing from a former Iraqi military facility. John Kerry is using it as ammunition of his own while Vice President Dick Cheney may also address the subject in his speech in the battleground state of Minnesota.

And we’ll discuss the news of William H. Rehnquist (search), a conservative who is the second oldest man ever to be chief justice of the Supreme Court – he was hospitalized with thyroid cancer.  How will this news effect the final days of the campaign knowing that there may be several Supreme Court vacancies during the next president’s term?

About the Show

Anchored by Washington news veteran Brit Hume, "Special Report with Brit Hume" provides an in-depth look at the day's news and offers a daily topical discussion of political issues impacting the nation.

Hume serves as host to key newsmakers, political pundits and FOX News contributors exchanging views about political matters from taxes and Social Security to international affairs and the political scandal of the day.

Hume brings a historical perspective to the political scene that is rarely rivaled. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., he has covered the policies, procedures and players in the national game called politics for more than 30 years. The Baltimore Sun referred to him as "the very personification of the political establishment."

Each program features a two-minute segment called The Grapevine, which reels off the latest outrageous news nuggets, political poll results and in-the-Beltway gossip that viewers will not see on any other news program. The New York Daily News describes The Grapevine as a must see that, "will make you sounds smart around the water cooler… the next day."

FOX News' Team Washington provides live reports from the White House, Capitol Hill, the Supreme Court and key federal agencies. Seasoned correspondents, including Carl Cameron, Wendell Goler and Major Garrett, explore political hot spots, races and legislative battles being waged around the nation and abroad.

Hume wraps up each program with a lively roundtable discussion featuring Mara Liasson of National Public Radio, Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard and Mort Kondracke of Roll Call.
