Thomas Hamill (search) never, ever thought he'd be front-page news. He was a long-haul trucker and dairy farm owner in Mississippi. A quiet man with a wife and two kids — then he signed up for a trucking job in Iraq to help save his family farm.

This past April, Tommy's convoy was attacked as he was driving near the Baghdad International Airport. He was wounded and taken prisoner; beaten with a rifle butt. Five of his colleagues were killed. For 24 terrifying days, masked gunmen held him hostage while Tommy's wife and family in Mississippi struggled to keep their hopes up.

On May 2nd, Tommy made a daring escape from the mud hut that was his prison — and made his way to American soldiers.

There is so much more to this story that we haven't heard — but Tommy will tell it when he's with me in the studio Monday on "DaySide," so I hope you'll watch. If you want to send questions or comments to him, e-mail them to me at: dayside@foxnews.com and I'll pass them on.

Have a great weekend!
