MORT KONDRACKE: Let's check out this week's battleground polls.

We begin in Florida. President Bush is up 4 points in the latest Mason-Dixon poll. Bush was up two, up in two other Florida polls this week too.

Pennsylvania goes back into Kerry's column this week. He's up 6 points in the latest poll there. Gore won the Keystone State by 4 in 2000.

A new poll this week shows that Kerry has a 1-point lead in Ohio.  Bush won that state by 4 points in 2000.

President Bush picks up New Mexico this week. A new Gallup poll there shows Bush with a 3-point lead. Gore won that state in a squeaker, 365 votes, in 2000.

And Iowa moves into Kerry's column this week. A new poll there shows that Kerry is up by 1 point. Gore won that state by roughly 4,000 votes.

FRED BARNES: So here's how it shakes out. President Bush picks up New Mexico, Kerry picks up Pennsylvania and Iowa, but he's still behind in our Electoral Count: The president has 316 electoral votes, to Kerry's 222.
