President Bush (search) will visit "Dr. Phil" (search) Wednesday to talk about raising his twin daughters.

The president and first lady Laura Bush (search) pre-taped their interview with "Dr. Phil" McGraw several weeks ago at the family ranch in Crawford, Texas.

Bush's challenger, John Kerry (search), visits "Dr. Phil" the following Wednesday, Oct. 6 (3 p.m./Ch. 2). He and wife Teresa are set to talk about raising a "blended family."

While candidates have been using the talk shows for years to campaign, it is rare for a sitting president to make an appearance on a daytime TV show in so informal a setting — and talking about so private a subject.

McGraw, who has dedicated this season to family dynamics, has a new book out called "Family First" (search) — which he hyped in a prime-time special on CBS last week.

Kerry appeared last week on "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Live with Regis & Kelly," while Bush sits for a three-part interview this week with Bill O'Reilly on Fox News Channel.

Kerry also appears tomorrow and Thursday with Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America."
