Heavyweight "American Idol" (search) winner Ruben Studdard, who tips the scales at 360 pounds, is getting a makeover.
Studdard, 26, has moved to L.A. to work with the "Extreme Fitness Team" of "AI" judge Randy Jackson and trainer-to-the-stars Gunnar Peterson, according to Big News Network.
Studdard's (hoped-for) weight-loss makeover is courtesy of "Extra," (search) which will chronicle the process for a later airdate.
Studdard, the "Velvet Teddy Bear" who won the second edition of "American Idol," has gained as much attention for his girth as for his voice.
Since he appeared last season on an episode of "American Idol," health experts have been concerned that Studdard, now a well-known recording star, may be a poor role model for his impressionable young fans.
According to thesmokinggun.com, Studdard requires a "large bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken" in his dressing room, in addition fo 24 bottles of fruit juice.
Studdard's first CD release, "Soulful," (search) has been selling well since being released last December. He will release a gospel album in November.
