NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – It wasn't the kind of "hit" Tony Soprano (search) is used to, but luckily it turned out OK.
Actor James Gandolfini (search), who plays Tony in the Emmy-award winning HBO series "The Sopranos" (search), was hit by a drunken driver in New Jersey over the weekend.
Police said the actor wasn't hurt.
Gandolfini was in New Brunswick on Saturday for the Rutgers-Michigan State football game.
The sport utility vehicle driven by Gandolfini, a Rutgers alumnus, was hit by a driver who police said ran a red light.
The driver of the other car was issued a summons for drunken driving and released.
