Five Minutes With Laurie Dhue

Laurie Dhue
We've received tons of e-mails asking for more information about news anchor and host of FOX Magazine Laurie Dhue. Well, you ask, we deliver. We caught up with Laurie for a quick Q & A and found out some things that surprised us.

Where did you grow up?

I was born in North Carolina, grew up in Atlanta, Georgia.

Who's your favorite author?  What's your favorite book?

I couldn't possibly choose. No way! In general, I love biographies — favorites include biographies of Katharine Graham, Jackie Kennedy, Princess Diana, and Presidents Harry S. Truman and Ronald Reagan.

I've always enjoyed Agatha Christie mysteries when I just want to escape.

Name one thing you absolutely couldn't live without.

Pizza...extra cheese and pepperoni.

Your first car?

A 1982 beige Ford Escort (pre-owned, with the wimpiest horn you've ever heard.  I can still hear it now. I plastered the back with every bumper sticker imaginable).

Favorite movie of all time?

Arghh...There is no harder question! But since I have to pick one, I'll say "The Sound of Music."

Is the glass half empty or half full?

About half the time, it's half full!

Do you have a pet?

My beloved cat, Oscar, passed away a couple of years ago. But soon I look forward to getting at least one, hopefully two, new ones.

Who's had the greatest influence on your life?

My family. Especially my grandfather, Bob Kent.
