The Foxlight: New on DVD

"Goodfellas," "Eurotrip" and "Along Came Polly" are new on DVD in today's Foxlight.

What's that noise in the trunk? Oh, it's just a deer they hit on the road. Yeah, yeah, that's it. "Goodfellas" (search) is back in a special edition with extras and commentary, and it reminds us why it's one of the best mob hits ever. How much money do you need, Karen? This much? Check the sauce, Karen. Okay, I've already seen it a few times. Watch your back, Joe Pesci. This is part of a special Martin Scorsese gift pack or lifetime achievement box set or something. Get 'em all. But this is the one you'll watch over and over again.

Next, the folks who brought you "Road Trip" get a passport. This one is called "Eurotrip," (search) and not all critics thought it made the translation successfully. The Cincinnati Enquirer says the story stumbles all over itself, but honestly, who expects much of a story? E! Online has the right attitude: "Sure this is a raunchy teen road comedy that never passes up a chance have a girl go topless, but, boy, it sure is fun." Amen.

Finally, the trailer looked fairly amusing, except for the lame blind ferret stuff. But Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston are working awfully hard for some of the laughs in "Along Came Polly." (search) Chicago Tribune says, "Some movies run out of gas. This one could use an alternate fuel source." For the record, one scene doesn't feel like it's ever going to run out of gas. Literally. And the toilet humor actually features a toilet. Is that Stiller's career I see in there?
