"The Girl Next Door," "Ella Enchanted" and "Peter Pan" are new on DVD in today's Foxlight.

Who knew Kiefer Sutherland's daughter on "24" was such a hottie? After small parts in movies like "Old School," Elisha Cuthbert is carrying a film with a star turn in "The Girl Next Door" (search), new on DVD this week. She's a porn star who helps a high school senior turn into quite a junior achiever. If this sounds a lot like "Risky Business," guess what -- it's got a lot of the same story beats. And the whole thing could have been a lot funnier. But this unrated version is still worth a look. Just don't get any ideas about getting dates like this for your prom.

Next, a teen comedy that got lost in the shuffle earlier this year -- it's "Ella Enchanted." (search) "Princess Diary" gal Anne Hathaway enchanted Roger Ebert, who gave the film an "A-" and called it a "high-spirited charmer that sparkles with delights." Atlanta Journal Constitution called it less than enchanting and gave it a "C." Everyone agrees it's smarter than most the of the family fare out there.

Another family film that underachieved at the box office is now flying into homes just like the boy himself -- the latest incarnation of "Peter Pan." (search) Critics generally liked the cast of unknowns -- OK, plus Lynn Redgrave -- but it's overblown special effects left me a little underwhelmed. Yahoo voters gave it a solid "B+," but I'm guessing none of them ever saw the version with Mary Martin. Okay, I'm old. Shoot me. No don't.
