— Lioubov Galkina of Russia won the gold medal in the 50-meter rifle three-position with an Olympic-record score of 688.4. Valentina Turisini of Italy won the silver. Wang Chengyi of China got the bronze.

— Anna Dogonadze of Germany won the women's trampoline gold medal while Karen Cockburn of Canada took the silver and Huang Shanshan of China scored the bronze.

— South Korea won the gold and silver medals in men's doubles badminton when Kim Dong-moon and Ha Tae-kwon beat Lee Dong-soo and Yoo Yong-sung 15-11, 15-4. Eng Hian and Flandy Limpele of Indonesia won the bronze.

— Maki Tsukada of Japan won the gold medal in the women's 78-kilogram class of judo, beating Dayma Beltran of Cuba. Tea Donguzashvili of Russia and Sun Fuming of China shared the bronze.

— China's team of Wang Nan and Zhang Yining won the gold medal in women's doubles table tennis, beating Lee Eun-sil and Suk Eun-mi of South Korea 11-9, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6. Guo Yue and Niu Jianfeng of China won the bronze.

— Benoit Peschier of France won the gold medal in kayak slalom with an overall time of 187.96. Fabien Lefevre of France won the silver. David Ford of Canada got the bronze.
