A United Airlines (search) flight en route to Vancouver, Canada, was evacuated Monday night after experiencing engine trouble at O'Hare International Airport.
Flight 1035 was taxiing to a runway when a pilot in a plane behind it reported seeing sparks from the engine, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation (search).
The Airbus 319's (search) 69 passengers and five crew members evacuated using slides, United spokeswoman Jenna Obluk said.
A flight attendant and a passenger were taken to a hospital for minor injuries, she said. Another passenger with minor scrapes and bruises was treated at the scene.
Passengers were staying overnight in an area hotel. The flight was rescheduled to depart Tuesday morning.
The incident was under investigation, Obluk said.
Elsewhere Monday, passengers were evacuated and departing flights halted at a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (search) after a man slipped through a security station without being properly screened.
Airport police weren't able to immediately find the man despite obtaining a photo of him from a surveillance camera. Nancy Castles, a spokeswoman for the Transportation Security Administration (search), said the man may not have known police were looking for him.
"All we know is that this person was not properly screened, but we also know that he did not run away from the screening station," she said.
