GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST: Tonight, Mark Hacking (search) is on suicide watch. And in just a moment, we're going to bring you an exclusive video of Lori Hacking (search) just hours before she was apparently murdered.

But first, joining us from Salt Lake City, Scott Daniel. He was Mark Hacking's Scout leader. He has lived across the street from the Hacking family for 27 years.

Scott, this must come as a terrible shock to you and your family, knowing the Hacking family for a number of years.

SCOTT DANIEL, MARK'S SCOUT LEADER: Oh, it's been extremely difficult for the Hacking family, for the Soares family and my own family. My own sons grew up — when the Hackings weren't in their home, they were in mine. And when my sons weren't in our home, they were in theirs. It's been a very close relationship with a wonderful family.

VAN SUSTEREN: You were Mark's Scout leader. As a young man, as a young boy, anything you can say about him to describe him?

DANIEL: I'd be honored to say that. You know, being close to the Hacking family and seeing them and watching them, the girls, the young men, the men, I'd just be proud to have any of them and call them my own. They've been wonderful examples. Mark has been to Scout camp with me. He's taught leadership principles. He's everything that you'd want a son to be. And if these allegations that are being made are true, then he's turned his back on some precious truths that he knows and has been taught all his life.

VAN SUSTEREN: You spoke to his father today. What did his father have to say?

DANIEL: The family is in quite a bit of pain. You know, this is difficult for all of us because — well, think of it as if it was your own son or your own brother that was accused here. It's very painful. It's quite a shock.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you know, or did you know Lori? I mean, I'm not even sure if we should say it in the present tense. The police say murder, so I assume she's dead. But did you know her?

DANIEL: I did. I was at the wedding and I was at the reception and I visited with them from time to time, even spoke to Mark after they were married about their marriage and he told me how happy he was and what a wonderful companion he had. What you saw on the video pictures, the wedding pictures, is who Mark Hacking was, and I believe still is.

VAN SUSTEREN: Scott, thank you very much for joining us this evening.
