A newly shot ending is being added to "Napoleon Dynamite," (search) the cult hit comedy about the triumph of a high school nerd in Idaho.
The apparently unprecedented epilogue, which will be added to all prints as the film expands its run today, contains "the wedding of the century," according to distributor Fox Searchlight.
The studio wouldn't say whether the ceremony — shot by director Jared Hess (search) on June 22 and 23 in Preston, Idaho — involves Napoleon, played by Jon Heder, or another character.
"'Napoleon Dynamite' fans are extremely devoted," said Nancy Utley, Searchlight's director of marketing. "We decided to take a page out of the DVD handbook and give them something more."
Last year, Searchlight added an alternative ending, which had been shot during the movie's original production schedule, to the horror film "28 Days Later." (search)
