I just listened to a radio interview with "Mike", the anonymous CIA officer who used to head the agency's special Bin Laden unit. As you know, he's publishing a book called "Imperial Hubris" — supposedly about how we are not winning the war on terror.

Some news outlets have portrayed this as a scathing indictment of the Bush administration — but I've heard it's also an indictment of the Clinton administrations.

What I find even more interesting is what I just heard "Mike" say. He did not say that we should be trying harder to make Islamic extremists like us. Rather, in his book he said America should engage in a "relentless, brutal and blood soaked offensive until we have annihilated the Islamists."

"Mike" explains that this is not because this is a fun or noble thing to do — but because this is the most realistic option we have.

What do you say to that?

Wednesday, June 23: What a Piece of Work

As I write this, juror No. 5 from the Peterson trial (search ) has just been dismissed and is speaking out on the air to a gaggle of reporters.

His name's Justin Falconer and rather colorful stuff is coming out of his mouth. It sure sounds like his mind was already made up to favor the defendant. How did this guy end up on the jury in the first place?! Holy cow. And he seems mighty eager to score a book or movie deal for himself.

Wonder who's going to replace ol' Justin on that jury.

Tuesday, June 22: Finding Faith

I don't know if any of you feel the same way, but I often find myself questioning religion and wondering if God even exists.

Then BOOM — something happens to a friend or relative, and I am praying my heart out for them. I sometimes feel guilty for questioning God, then in the next moment I'm asking Him for help.

Dr. Tim Johnson (search), who has been a medical expert on ABC News for years, has just written a book called "Finding God in the Questions.” Among the things he asks in this book, "Is God in control?"

I'm curious to know if any of you ever find yourselves asking questions like this. Are there parts of your faith that you still haven't totally resolved in your mind? I know this is personal stuff, but if you feel like talking about it, drop me an e-mail at: dayside@foxnews.com

We'll talk about it Wednesday on “DaySide” with Dr. Tim Johnson — see you then.

Monday, June 21: Will Your Teenager Die Before You Do?

Many doctors say for the first time in this nation's history, our kids may NOT outlive us. Why? Because more and more are obese.

Not just fat, but dangerously obese.

It used to be unusual to see someone weighing 400 lbs. Not anymore.

Growing up, I sometimes heard of older folks having strokes, heart attacks and arthritis.

Now, doctors warn that we're going to see more and more Americans having these problems in their 30s — their 30s!

I'd like to hear from you on this. Do you see it around you? Do you know a teenager who's struggling with serious obesity, or a parent whose son or daughter is struggling with it? E-mail me at: dayside@foxnews.com

We're planning to cover this in Tuesday's “DaySide.” See you then.
