Severe thunderstorms slammed southern Michigan (search) for a third day Sunday, triggering at least two tornadoes and drenching the region for a third consecutive day.
A tornado touched down about 6 p.m. EDT near Montrose, located about halfway between Flint and Saginaw, the National Weather Service (search) said. The tornado was moving east at about 25 mph and remained on weather service radar at 6:30 p.m., forecasters said.
The Genesee County Sheriff's Department had received no immediate reports on injuries or property damage, said a deputy who would not give his name.
A second tornado touched down about 5:30 p.m. near Williamston, about 15 miles east of Lansing in Ingham County. The weather service's Grand Rapids (search) office said it had received no reports of injuries or property damage.
Calls to the Williamston Fire Department were not answered later Sunday.
