In an "American Idol" (search) shocker, Jennifer Hudson (search) - a favorite to win the Fox talent show - turned out to be the latest pop-star wannabe to be tossed from the competition last night by this week's viewer's vote.

"You're my 'American Idol' " said Hudson's co-contestant Fantasia Barrino (search), as she hugged the fallen idol who, until last night had seemed to be a shoo-in to appear in the show's finale.

Hudson, 22, Barrino 19, and a third contestant, LaToya London (search), 25 were considered three of the best singers on the show, but the trio received the least votes of all the "American Idol" contestants from viewers this week.

The contestant who receives the fewest votes from viewers is the one who gets booted.

The millions of viewers who voted this week were scolded by the show's three "American Idol" judges, who seemed genuinely shocked that this season's three front-runners had received the least amount of votes.

After the show, The New York Post was deluged with calls complaining that the voting was racially motivated since the three woman with the fewest votes were black. There are now only six contestants left.

Fox is a division of News Corp., which also owns The Post.
