Trump Wants to Trademark 'You're Fired'

He owns half of New York and now Donald Trump (search) wants to own the catchphrase he's made famous on "The Apprentice" (search) — "You're fired."

"Every time you walk down the street people are screaming, 'You're fired!'" Trump told The Post yesterday. "It's in case I ever decide to do something with it. But nothing's imminent."

Trump lawyers filed papers to trademark the phrase with the U.S. Patent and Trademark (search) office the week the show debuted last January.

According to the papers, posted on the Web site The Smoking Gun, Trump could use the phrase "You're fired" on "clothing, games and playthings."

He could also use it in connection with "casino services," according to the papers.
