"In the Cut" doesn't make the cut, "Wonderland" has wonderful performances, "Intolerable Cruelty" is not quite tolerable and kids love "The Lion King 1 1/2" in today's Foxlight.

Meg Ryan wanted to change her kewpie doll image and tried with the ludicrous "thriller" "In the Cut." (search) It died at the box office. Will it fare better this week on DVD? Not if most people agree with E! Online, which says "...in the end, the plot slips too much into a cheap 'Seven' whodunit category and just falls apart."

Another film that slipped away at the box office but deserved a better following was a murder mystery called "Wonderland." (search) Since it involved a real story that had a real porn star in it, everyone thought it was The John Holmes Story. It's not. Val Kilmer is terrific and so is Lisa Kudrow as his long suffering ex-wife.

Next, a movie that has so much talent but falls flat. George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones look great falling in love and hate in "Intolerable Cruelty." (search) When something is directed by the Coen brothers, there's an expectation of greatness. Problem? They didn't write the script alone. I knew we were in trouble from the opening credits.

Finally, all I need to say for parents like me out there is "The Lion King 1 1/2." (search) When you've hit your 10,000th viewing, call me. We'll start a support group.
