Flubbing Pentagon (search) efforts to maintain strict secrecy, someone accidentally posted next year's military budget plan on the Internet.
Hundreds of pages of President Bush's (search) defense budget proposal appeared Friday on the comptroller section of the Pentagon's Web site.
Officials declined to say who made the mistake or give any other details, saying only the posting was inadvertent and the documents later withdrawn from the site.
Budget proposals are supposed to be closely held until the president formally sends the Congress (search), which Bush is scheduled to do Monday.
Details of the proposal are usually leaked to the press before then, but officials said they had no memory of the documents making their way to the Internet ahead of time as they did Friday.
