Come back, "Croc Hunter" Steve Irwin (search), all is forgiven, says his TV network.
The head of Discovery Channel (search) says that Irwin is "incredibly remorseful" about the TV stunt last week during which he held his month-old son, Bob, in one arm while feeding a 770-pound man-eating crocodile.
"There has been tremendous opinion comparing him to Michael Jackson (search), whatever," Discovery president Billy Cambell told reporters. "I don't care about any of that stuff. . . I'm sorry it happened, he's sorry it happened, and we're moving on."
Still, Campbell says he told Irwin that in his opinion, the animal handler made a mistake. "When I talked to Steve, I let him know on behalf of me, personally, as well as Discovery, that I didn't agree with what he did," Campbell says. Discovery - parent company of Animal Planet - is the main outlet in the U.S. for Irwin's nature shows.
"He's been incredibly remorseful," Campbell said.
"We're supporting him; we will continue to air the show," he said. "I'm very excited about sitting down with him and talking about the future."-
