It looks like French, German and Russian companies won't be getting their hands on $18.5 billion worth of Iraqi reconstruction contracts. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz (search) says that to protect national security interests, only "coalition partners" can bid on the contracts.

But should any nation be frozen out from these contracts? We’ll ask Rep. Bob Beauprez, R-Co., member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Then, he may have saved the lives of U.S. troops, but his actions got him into hot water with the military. Now a big victory for Lt. Col. Allen West, as the military recommends against a court martial hearing. We’ll get reaction from West’s wife Angela and his attorney, retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Neal Puckett.

After the Democratic presidential candidates squared off in Tuesday night’s debate, we’ll look at the fallout from Al Gore's “diss” of his former running mate.

Plus, the evidence against Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. is mounting. But are cops any closer to finding Dru Sjodin?

And, watch out -- this flu season is deadly. Children are being particularly hard hit and vaccines are scarce. We’ll tell you what you need to know to stay healthy on today’s edition of DaySide with Linda Vester.
